Just completed W3R1 - gremlins were hard at work this morning before I left and I had a headache I couldn't shake. Still I forced myself into my running clothes and headed out the door.
Once I got into it though - and kept the pace slow and steady, it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. It's nice when you jog for a bit longer than before (2 mins) and can actually go down a whole street or down one and round a corner.
Being a holiday morning (Waitangi Day in NZ), there were other folk round for a walk or run. I saw another lady jogging slowly on the other side of the road and inwardly applauded her.
On the final run section, I had a slightly uphill run and there was a man running down towards me. We said hello and grinned - and suddenly I felt like part of the running club
And I realized runners are made, not born. Before I started C25K, I just thoght some people were runners; they loved it all of the time and were good at it and I wasn't in that group. But now I know I can become a runner, one slow trot at a time! So there gremlins - eat your heart out.

Thanks - part of a running club that is even based overseas! I'm running here in sunny New Zealand, but heard this forum was great for motivation so I thought I'd jump on this one
Thanks - yup; I felt like squashing those gremlins down with the last bit of energy I had Heading out tomorrow for W3R2 so will tell them where to go again
Runners are made, not born - I love it! That is such a big realisation of the programme. I remember realising at all you have to do to be a 'runner' is to run! There's no speed or distance or weight to make to join the club. We're all runners! Well done for starting Week 3 off so positively. You're doing great.
Thanks It just was a bit of an epihany for me so that was fun Enjoying it so far, and also continually surprised by my ability to keep on progressing through the weeks
This is just how I feel today! Didn't want to go but achieved the 3 minute runs with ease and now feel so good!! you are right, runners are made not born.
I am at the same stage and I know we can do it. I walk faster than I run but I learned here that this doesn't matter The speed will come or it won't but even if I will be able to run 30 min in my snail speed it's still good. So keep the good work. We will be fine
