I really enjoyed that!!๐ I was wondering what the difference would feel like just upping the duration of the runs from 60 secs to 90 secs but, if Iโm totally honest, I actually felt stronger than I did in the runs last week and, at one point, I had to tell myself to slow down just in case I overdid it!!๐
I donโt want to come across as over confident, Iโm not, I know there are many more tougher weeks and runs ahead, but the best advice (in my limited experience) I can give to anyone stepping up from week 1 to week 2 is to look forward to it, donโt fear it, and you will hopefully enjoy it as much as I did!!
That said, itโs now time for a nice radox bath and then Netflix๐ ๐ ๐บ

Thanks Fen and enjoy your run 2 tomorrow. I know youโve completed this last year so thereโs not much I can say that you donโt already know! Iโm sure youโll smash it again this time round and we can kick each other up the backside if we have any wobbles along the way!!๐๐
Lol thank you . Encouragement is good think we all need it. ๐ yea done it before but still as hard as first time round starting again so thank you. Deffo good to support each other.hoping my spin bike turns up tomorrow so i can alternate it. Love my spinning missing my classes .๐
Iโve never been to a spin class but Iโve heard they are great workout and I nearly talked myself into a peloton bike before I took the less expensive option of the C25K app๐ My mountain bike is hanging up in the garage so, once Iโve hopefully completed the C25K, Iโll be looking at mixing up my runs with a bike ride or two as well. Enjoy your spin bike tomorrow Fen and keep enjoying your runs ๐
This is a great place. Lots of great advice and encouragement here! Itโs also a really positive place to be. Important at the moment. Keep up the good work. You are doing brilliantly. ๐๐ผ๐
Perfect advice for anyone facing that first step up. Great job on the run... and also self coaching yourself to manage the pace... youโll go far. Nothing could be better than Netflix and smug โI just did thatโ grin either!
Thank you unfitnomore, I read your bio and we have had surprisingly similar experiences. Both going from high levels of fitness in our younger years to injury induced midlife lethargy! You seem a lot more further on in your return to fitness but C25K seems to have been the best starting point for us both.๐
Hopefully we both have a lot more โI just did thatโ days to come ๐
Yeah... I was a very arrogant guy coming back to running... after all I used to go sub 9 minutes for 3k, so how hard could it be? I dialled up a different app and it beat me into submission for a couple of weeks... then I found here, never looked back. Since then Iโve done my first Half Marathon, and just loving life... and no, Iโm nowhere near 3 minute kilometres, they used to be such hard work, I now run smiling. Youโll achieve anything you want to through this... and yes, there will be many, many, moments where you can grab a drink, something nice to eat, put your feet up, turn on that TV and know that you earned it.
Iโd love a chat with my teenage self... probably wouldnโt listen though. The thing is, I was much faster back then, but I now have much more endurance... the teen me would kick my butt for 4K and then be keeled over while I jogged past... so maybe itโs like moving from the wing to defensive midfield... not so much about pace, but stamina is real important.
๐คฃ. When I was little my cousin got picked up by United, sadly he didnโt make it as his asthma got bad. I was good in goals... he struggled to score past me, the only issue was it took me 3/4 times of picking the ball out of the back of the net to get my eye in... and no team was ever good enough to carry that ๐คฃ
Thanks Dee, Iโm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. Iโm just back from my W2R2 and pretty much had the same feeling. Get out there and smash it๐ช๐
Oh my goodness don't be sorry I always welcome advise. I Still need it!! I find running hard but it has been so good getting out especially at the moment. Really clears my head and makes me feel great afterward. Well done for smashing it today...we can keep each other motivated as the weeks go on ๐ช๐พ๐๐๐
