YAAAAY! Go you! Knew you could do it! Looking forward to mine already!! I said if I got half way I would treat myself to new clothes however, I do own a pair of Nike trainers which are very lightweight and breathable which I like a lot!
It really wasn't as bad as I thought! Really enjoyed it and looking forward to my Monday run now I have jogging bottoms and trainers and stuff, but think I need to invest now that I'm serious about it When's your next run honey?
How exciting, you have made me excited now. I finished week one yesterday but I am at work all weekend doing long days so I cant run until Monday morning. I don't want to wait until then!! Defo sounds like you should treat yourself!
Before buying new trainers, get a gait analysis done. Not all trainers, no matter the make, are right for you so a proper check is necessary. Lots of places do this for free, some charge but then discount the trainers price if you buy. Also you need to try them on. Often you'll need need to go up at least a half size, with some shoes as much as 2 whole sizes bigger than your regular size. This may seem obvious, but only buy online if you're sure you know the correct size in that make and type.
Thanks that's really helpful not sure where to go for a gait analysis, but I'll find out
I got to around week 8 before I went for gait analysis at a running shop (they record how you run on a treadmill to find the proper shoes that suit your running style) I would suggest doing it before week 8 to stave or any potential injury’s.
As for clothes I would say something breathable. I have a jacket which isn’t breathable and after a while running gets too hot and sweaty. Also some comfortable clothing to avoid any signs of the dreaded chafing
I have a hoodie, but it's cotton, so really hot! Definitely going to get a gait analysis done, think I might treat myself to some lighter running clothes too
