When to start again

Hi all. I’m starting to think about when I can hopefully get back out and start running again. I hit as far as the end of week 2 at the start of February and then because of numerous health interferences, I haven’t been out since. Not sure whether to go back out attempting week 2 or to go right back to the beginning of week 1. Any advice and other people experiences in similar circumstances would be appreciated.

How about last run of week 1 to start...if ok last week of week 2...if not do all three sessions. But confidence may be better by starting week 1. I probably have not helped. Pleased to hear that you are back running and in better health. 🏃‍♀️👍

Thank you Nilsam. I’m still fighting off the end of a cold but in comparison to the last few weeks, feeling so much better. Vertigo controlled with meds and asthma is better at the moment. All good :). Can’t wait to get back out and try again very soon. Thank you for your suggestion. I like the sound if it. Much appreciated 😊

Don't push it with a cold and asthma...pick your weather too. Not too cold. I am asthmatic too and you certainly notice it running near busy roads. Take it slow and steady...Happy running 🏃‍♀️

Slow and steady is the plan and only on a day when everything feels right. I remember you saying about being asthmatic, so your advice is invaluable:)

Yes, I’m with Nilsam, try a week 1 run and see how you feel. If it’s easy move on, if it’s a bit of a struggle just start again. It’s not going back that far at the end of the day. Good luck and let us know how you get on 👍😁

I was in the same boat. Completed week one and one run of week two then got a chest infection. That ruled me out for a fortnight. I basically resumed from where I left off, in fear of having the painful legs from week one. They never materialised, so I just kept going with the plan. I guess it's a "suck it and see" kind of thing...

Sort of unhelpful but it really depends on the individual and how you feel. Good luck! Let us know what worked!

Like you I had to abandon c25k early February end week 2 due to muscle/tendon damage, I also have asthma. Being a mature first time 'runner' I started with a running club but it was too much for me. Once all pain had settled I recently started again using the app. I have started again on week 1 and will only move to week 2 when I feel ready. Ok it is slow and steady but that's the way for me and I am enjoying the journey 😁👣🏃‍♀️good luck and enjoy 🤗
