I got to week 8 but had to take time out at the end of June due to a stress fracture in my thigh. Now ready to get back to it, but where should I start? Should I go right back at the beginning? Thanks

Where to start back....?
Welcome back.
Has the cause of the stress fracture been identified?
Was it caused by running?
Keeping impact minimal is always a good idea and there is advice on this in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You have missed enough to have lost quite a lot of condition and following an injury it would probably be wise to ease your body very gently back into running by going right back to W1R1, in my opinion.
After being on the IC for far too long I recently restarted the plan from scratch for exactly that reason, even though from a cardio perspective I need not have gone back so far.
Take care.
Thank you, sound advice indeed as I think I pushed myself too hard previously and this caused the injury. Wk1 it is!
I agree with the above post. As you have been out for a while with an injury the best thing would be to go back to wk1 and build your running up gradually. Good luck and come back and post to tell us how you are getting on😊😊
Thank you. I know you are all right, but I was so close!
Given that the fracture may have been caused by pushing yourself too hard I would definitely look at some cross training too, whether it be the strength and flex workouts, a keep fit group, some swimming or cycling, just anything to help build up strength your body in general (without pushing yourself too hard of course!) 👍🏻😁
Great idea, thank you
