Yes, I’m a moaner when it comes to all physical activity. Fire, books, and tea are more my thing. I am darn proud of surviving each and every one.

I’ve been taking much smaller strides to meet 170 bpm music. Seemed like an insane suggestion to correct overstriding. So far, running is feeling better. I’ve also been using Strava to compare pace and I’ve been slowing down a little bit every run.

Bottom line, 28min is in the bag at least for this first run. So thanks to everyone for your continued support, and telling me to slow down over and over throughout this program. For me, slowing down is better than quitting.

You’re right to be darn proud of yourself... always take time to celebrate and smile! Slowing down is something all runners benefit from, especially when running longer. Great job.

Totally agree with you - that’s the one piece of advice that was key to me finishing C25K. To go slow and then slow down more. This is all about time in your feet. I graduated in Jan and with all my runs, I try to go as slow as possible. Saves me from dreading each run and if I feel like going faster when I’m settled into the run, then I’m more confident. Well done on your progress so far - excellent!!

Slowing down is the exact opposite of quitting! Slowing down is where all the success happens my friend!

Thanks. I’ve really struggled with slowing down. But it has come down to slow down or quit on several runs, and I chose to slow down. I think the mental game is as big a challenge as the run. It appears it’s another muscle that needs some exercise.

I'm graduated for a few months now but I haven't gone further than running 5k but I have found slow down to speed up is my mantra.

I run slow and steady for the first 3 k then if I'm feeling good i can start to push on without fear of not being able to complete the run and my times are getting better.

But it's all about time and miles in the legs .

Well done dieOR5k for slowing down to keep going. I only graduated a week or two ago, and have really enjoyed mixing and experimenting with different paces. Slower pace is the way forward, enabling us to build up strength and stamina.

😂 this post made me realise what a warped mind I must have when I first read fire books and tea I thought what he likes starting fires 🙈😂 but seriously well done I have 25 minutes run to do tomorrow and I'm thinking can I do it but I'm just gonna go for it I run at a snail's pace but it's about finishing that counts. May have to invest in some tens lady's though 25 minutes is a long time 😉😂
