Week 5 done

Feeling positive. The continuous run today was manageable. I was ready for it mentally as last week I was starting to get annoyed with the interval running. I know that next week it's back to that again but I think just for week 6?

Having said that, when I started the warm down walk at the end my calves went to instant jelly for 30 seconds! Didn't expect that!

I've noticed that my general fitness has improved. Fast walking through Gatwick airport on Thursday didn't leave me breathless. I'm feeling good about myself. Still a long way to go before I feel like a runner but I can see the road ahead and it's possible to achieve.

Weather is mad today. 10 mins before my run it was snowing. Then brilliant blue sky for my half hour run with a strong wind. Now it is raining again. Thank you Jesus for giving me the weather sweet spot for my run!

Off to the shower πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Well done.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Really well done! That 3rd run of week 5 is great isn't it. There aren't many interval runs left now and you will be running continuously for quite a few runs ahead of you! Good luck.
