Having smashed my W7R3 over a week ago I got back to W8R1 this afternoon and it was tough. Last week was a mix of awful weather, long work days and trips away for my wife’s birthday in our camper so no running. I really thought the week of rest would be a good thing but today’s 28 mins was really tough. I was hot and bothered, my earphones ( only for listening to Laura) kept falling out, my nose dripped like a tap and my socks felt like someone else’s!!!
Glad that one is in the bag though and sort of looking forward to R2.
This running game is an up and down affair...

I worry that if I miss a week (and I’ve had to miss a few and repeat a few) I won’t be able to do as well and then I think that my last run may have been a fluke!! Mind games I guess. You’re right though it’s definitely up and down! Well done. You’re ahead of me by a week or so. I’m hanging on in there so far!
I always seem to find the first one of the week tough Helen don’t know why, mentally it always seems a chore, just a box to tick but by run 2, then 3 I’m in a much better place. Guess it’s the nature of progression through the programme! I’m hoping to see the last 2 weeks go trouble free. Good luck!
Good job, despite the ups and downs you did it💪. It is hard getting back into it when missing a week, I know. You are a week ahead of me so keep going and so will I. Happy running 😄
Ahh I’m exactly the same! I smashed week 6 and have felt like I’ve struggled on week 7, nothing feels comfortable and my legs constantly feel like lead! Huge well done on sticking with it, you’re so close to graduating now and look how far you’ve come from week one!! I have every faith you’ll get back to feeling comfortable this week. All the best x
Cheers Babysteps, I know. When I started I just wanted to make up for my lack of daily steps as our dogs are getting old, don’t walk as far and my general activity in work had dropped from doing a new job. 8 weeks in and I’m loving the running, missing it when not regularly doing it, I bought a running magazine ( I must be mad), looking at my local area with runners eyes, route planning etc. and generally boring my wife with running chat. Even she is considering starting the c25k as she’s seen how happy I am doing it and have some genuine achievements! Good luck and keep running 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Ahh how lovely to hear! I had no idea there was such a thing as a running magazine... might have to check it out , I could do with some new run routes!
