W8R2 weird but great

Today was a weird one, my headphones had stopped connecting to Bluetooth so I bought some new ones, they were awful kept falling out my ears...so after about 10 mins I decided to ditch them. Somehow I stopped the c25k app and lost the plot of how far into the run I was. But I carried on going, running with no music and no guidance...but the run was great, breathing great, loved it and still feeling great now a few hours later. And although I couldโ€™ve continued I instinctively stopped at just over 28 mins so still on plan ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘...4.2k

Frustrating when things donโ€™t work but it didnโ€™t put you off and your run is great, you coveted a lot of ground in the time well done

My headphones kept doing the same on my last run and I had to stop myself from throwing them over a hedge, glad the run was good tho, I felt the same as you at the end of my 25 min run on Thursday and actually carried on and did 30 mins, wasn't sure if I should have or not but felt good and still feel good now so must have been the right decision ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Š keep up the great work, the end is in sight ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

4 more runs to go ...gotta sort this headphone situation out though, itโ€™s so annoying and distracting and mine defo were close to being in a hedge!! ...surprisingly didnโ€™t mind the lack of music too much but do prefer it.

Weโ€™re smashing this ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™Œ

Well done for keeping going!

I use AfterShokz which work well for running (but they are a bit pricey).

Iโ€™ve been looking at these...tempted...just really want some that stay in place.

They're basically headphones that hook over your ears so they are stable, that's my experience anyway. They also have the advantage that they don't cover your ears so you can still hear what's going on around you (that works great for speech such as the directions from C25K, less so if you're playing loud music). The downside of that is that I found them hard to hear in noisy environments (like next to a busy road).

Bought them...looking forward to trying them on tomorrowโ€™s run ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

How are you getting on with the AfterShokz?

Really good thanks!! So pleased with them, first time running and not constantly touching my ears!! Thanks for recommendation ๐Ÿ˜€

Wow I just found them after shocks on amazon. They look exactly what I have been looking for being a bicycle courier to get say nav voice prompts. It is not over ear and water proof to ipx67 everything I have been looking, would you say it is alright to use these whilst cycling as they are not really in or over the ears and will be using them as a sat nav not listening to music whilst cycling ๐Ÿ‘‚??

I reckon they're as good as you can get for listening to directions on your bike. As you said, if you listen to music as well, that will drown out some of the traffic sounds that you need to hear to stay safe.

The bone conduction is really weird. It is getting like the matrix with these impulse signals. My Nike plus Apple Watch โŒš๏ธ sends signals with haptics which I can only assume is very similar. The head phones sound like using a second pair of ears ๐Ÿ‘‚ no pun intended. On a more serious note I do understand how the amazon product description says they use acoustics to transmit audio via bone conduction describing how you can hear scratching your head through your skull ๐Ÿ’€ as often when I hear back some messages through my phone I can hear ๐Ÿ‘‚ and all manner of other stuff like me knocking the phone, I am sure others have similar experiences. Very interesting ๐Ÿง really

Those head phones sound right up my street being a bicycle courier I need Sat nav directions literally but also to hear what is going on around me and get that peripheral awareness going being deafer in one ear ๐Ÿ˜‚ , what I would say though for ear bud troubles is that you can get universal silicone over ear hooks to convert the audio cable over the wires and then drop the buds or pods into your ear as that is how they are designed I think, or from the bottom too, they are only pence on amazon and EBay, and available for the wire free Apple ear buds and apple pod pros too, I managed to convert several apple ear buds into wireless ones with a decent cheapo blue tooth receiver from amazon too by super glueing them, for this purpose after going to all the lengths to make a training music playlist I thought it would be a waste seeing as I am hoarding a huge collection of apple ear buds from upgrades and being a true Apple fan. Kinda of a bummer as I have been told they are a distraction but alright for the gym I guess....

If you do go down this route and glue them in all I would say is get the cable and length from the hooks right to face the ear and right length too before super glueing them in. I have not tested them fully yet but they seem pretty decent, they sound and look fab at least

Thanks for the tip. The ones I was having difficulty with are some that come with the over ear hook but they just werenโ€™t staying on at all. Took them back and put money towards the aftershokz ones...feeling hopeful ๐Ÿคž

There are seem to be endless amounts out there, just looking on amazon bamboozled me ๐Ÿ˜‚
