Set off this morning on consolidation run 6. I knew that today was my day to hit 5k and I did it!
I had been struggling with the runs in the heat up to now and can you believe it, I hated getting mud on my trainers on the odd occasion a few weeks back when it was a bit wet!
Today, I set off in the rain, was a bit wimpy trying to avoid puddles ( 1 inch deep) on first circuit of the pond, then so much rain had fallen by the time I did second circuit I had no choice but to run through all the swampy puddles ( over my trainers!)
Breathing felt so easy compared to earlier weeks. The drop in temperature really helped me though I was frozen by the time I walked home -2.5k later.
Still feeling the buzz! So happy I achieved my goal of 5k. I know time is irrelevant, but for posterity, my first 5k was 37:35minsr! ππππππ

Thank you. I know I have now set a personal benchmark on what I can do. I also recognise that I wonβt always achieve this so early on in my journey and am prepared for future β not so greatβ runs,
Well done! Amazing run and a great time too. It's really good when you feel that sense of achievement. Go you!!! πͺπͺπͺπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ
Well done you! Isnβt the rain βοΈ refreshing, especially after all this heat. I totally get what you say about the trainers, plus itβs no fun having soggy feet. I have a pair of pale pink trainers that certainly arenβt pale pink anymore, but more a murky grey πππ.
So near! I was staring at my watch very few paces towards the end to make sure I didnβt stop short and could see the magic 5! Iβm sure youβll nail it next run! ππ
Congratulations on your 5!I love running in the rain.Splashing through puddles like an overgrown child (well not overgrown in my case actually -I am short) with noone telling you off and not caring if a lorry splash makes you a little wetter still-so liberating.
That is great to hear. Really encouraging to hear when people say they could never have imagined themselves doing it. Good luck with your running πππββοΈ
