Week 7 run 1

Hey run buddies

I had a lovely sports massage on Monday - a whole hour releasing taught muscles. And my left hip flexor had been very sore. We discussed my stretches and I’m apparently doing the right stuff. So I took a couple of days to enjoy the benefits and ran earlier this evening.

It was my first run of this week. I felt a bit ropey at the start. And I noticed a variety of pains by the end but hey I did my run! And most of the pains were sorted out after a stretch session.

Bitterly cold today. It makes you doubt the sanity of going out. And then it’s fine 😂

How’s everyone today? Did you run? How was it?

Hi Hidden , sounds like your stretching is working but be careful if you’re feeling some niggles during a run as you might make them worse...well done for getting this far, maybe a couple of extra rest days if the niggles get any worse?

Hello. I was taking two days after the longer runs but funny, I had the same thought. I might start taking a minimum of two days now - especially as I walk pretty much every day. The knee surgeon classes walking as impacts (not high impact but impact all the same).

When the weather improves I’ll replace some walking with swimming.

Thanks for the reply!
