Up early this morning the sun still a bed and moon shining done when I went out. I wore my 3/4 leggings, a vest instead of my long sleeve running top and a very thin fleece as it was still cool. As I knew I would be going a bit further today I had to keep going until I heard the halfway bell then turn around to run back. Well faithful spaniel did not like the idea of running past our usual turning point. He sat down and would not budge so I ran on but kept him in sight.( we are on a footpath so no cars ) it’s a wonder I did not crick my neck I turned round that often. Sure enough the half time bell rang and I turned round ready to trot back ( well like a snail you know the pace!)
He sat there and waited for me, looking at me all the while as if to say what are you doing this is where we turn round. When I reached him he turned for home and that was that!
I really enjoyed the run this morning, the beautiful sunrise, the moon in the sky, the pleasure of just padding along, I felt I could have run for much further today. I never would have though I would feel this way after run 1 week 1. I will miss my running companion whilst I’m on holiday.
Good luck to all us week 7 folk and all newbies

I never ever thought I would enjoy this as much as I do. I’m 66 with the excess baggage, but when I run back to my home I feel years younger, and just so happy that I can do this. I’m not a gazelle and never will be, but that does not matter, it’s just a great feeling !
Ain't it just! I am 69..started this at 65..and I get that feeling after every single run! Including my first HM which I did a week before my 69th birthday!
