On Thursday I will be doing the 20 min run! I'm quite looking forward to it but my last few runs my mind has wondered, I lose focus after 5 mins and this is really hindering my running.
Does anyone have any tips for staying focused to get me through the 20 mins?
I listen to music I like which helps.
Thanks

I used to give a running commentary of everything I could see, hear, feel and smell as I ran.
You could try to work out how our government is going to agree a fisheries policy with the EU before December, recite Pi to 2000 decimal places, or count the leaves left on the trees after Ciara..........but don't think about running.
I made a new special playlist for my W5R3 run, I named it ‘emergency running music for desperate times’! It featured 25 mins of songs that I thought would pull me through the 20 mins of continual running. Instead of starting the music at the 5 min walk up walk, I started it just before the run. Worked for me.
There was an interesting post on here earlier regarding your choice of music and how relaxing songs are the way to go for a good run rather than pumping club classics 🤣🤪.
Yes, slow meditative music makes the run feel less frantic! It is an accompaniment rather than a beat to run to! I have fine-tuned my playlist to keep me calm and focussed -yes there are beats but they are slow and I don't keep time to them. The odd trance music from the 90s but only the slow ones!
Thanks everyone. I have now changed my run to tonight after work as the weather seems better. I'm going to have a look through some podcasts and music options. When I'm running I'm going to try switch off and not think about running or the time!
I did it! I listened to a podcast and it worked. I did the whole 20 mins and only thought about the time I had left once and that was about 30 seconds before the end! Thanks for your support!
