W5 R3

I started C25k with my teenage son who seems to be physically attached to his computer and only surfaces to eat. I had a slight advantage as I had trained for a 20 mile walk at the end of October. I completed this run but he has to stop after 15 mins. He wants to go back to W5 R1 and try again. I am so proud of him for wanting to keep going. Anyone else running with their children?

Welcome to the forum and well done

on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It is great to run with family and you are setting an excellent example to your son, so try to keep him going.

Enjoy your journey.

Brilliant effort for you and your son, he’s showing good determination that he’s willing to repeat rather than opting to stop. Maybe you are running too fast for him, I don’t know what your route is like but could you go say in opposite directions so he is on his own run at his own pace then you meet at the end?

I think you maybe right my comfortable pace is probably a little faster than his where I am fitter. I find the first part of the run quite hard but he finds is easy.
