Usual Friday Night not usual run though

Out for Friday night run with my usual Friday night running partner. Same route as usual but running partner really struggled on this one. Pavements are pretty narrow so end up running single file for certain parts usually I am made to run in front however I continue to look over shoulder to check on how she is doing. Well this was her not so good run after a 1 1/4 miles I looked and she was walking and signalling to me to not stop. Well was at a part of our run that involves a few laps around a cul de sac so I did these whilst she walked . I could keep her in view as I got up to six laps before we started back. Again I ended up doing some laps whilst she caught up walking. We got back to our start and I had completed 4.2 miles pretty pleased with that. More miles on the legs and 3 weeks to go.

That’s a great run, well done! And how lovely you have a running partner - a great motivator to get out. 👍

Yes good to have company on some runs however I think I am the motivator in trying to keep her running lol

Nice to be able to carry on and keep an eye on her at the same time, that’s a good run

Thanks yes we run together and I am not that concerned about my running distance but as long as she is ok and I can see her. She knows if we go together I need the miles as the big one is three weeks away.

Funny how you just get runs like that.

All part of the fun!

I need to start to plan out longer routes now that I'm on the magic 10 plan. Or just go round in circles 🤣

Most of my longer runs are based on my 5k runs just add cul de sacs, loops and just where the legs and music take me and as long as Strava tells me I have done the distance I want. Good luck

I think I might do the same. I do have two 5k routes. One that I did throughout C25K and one I started during consolidation.

My original is still my fave by far, but I do have the option to join them up if the need arises!

I also run paths that are lit and if they are windy I won’t run in that direction again on that route but will attempt to try the other direction and try and get the wind behind me

Hate running in the wind. The path I take is well lite, but very exposed. I've taken a couple of real batterings from the wind out there. Lashing rain I'm ok with. But the wind is not my friend.
