6 minutes into running, I had to stop. then 30 seconds later I stopped altogether with overwhelming pain. I have swelling on my shin and my mother - a nurse - reckons I may have a stress fracture 🙃 so I’m icing it and I’m going to keep doing low impact HIIT. I don’t want to waste GP time so unless it gets worse I won’t bother with that. Meanwhile just resting my leg and trying to keep improving my fitness ☹️ I’m really sad ☹️

That sounds painful Thodo 😔
You do right to rest & focus on other exercise while your leg recovers - frustrating 😤 but it will heal faster and you'll be back to running 🏃 sooner ☺
