Week 6 run 2 my hardest yet!

So I was getting a little bit more confident that I might actually conquer C25K this time around but today this run nearly broke me. I felt so uncoordinated right from the beginning and could hardly get a breath. I had to keep slowing down and by the time I got to the cool down run I had a stitch in my right shoulder and across my stomach! We did a big family walk this morning and I very nearly postponed this run until tomorrow but I could see my husbands face at the suggestion and that he thought I was copping out! Could have cried at the end of the run! I’ve done 20 mins of yoga which I was always end with to help my legs and feel more zen now but I’m dreading run 3, I can’t see how I will do it!

Week 5 finishes hard, week 6 starts with trickery, so the run you just did is one that is gonna be difficult on the brain and legs. Now you’ve done another step up. Sounds to me that you’re well and truly on top of this.

Just relax before your next run... and you’ll be fine.

Thanks, I might make sure tomorrow is a complete rest day (I was planning a big walk) to make sure I am ready for run 3 😀

Keep the legs loose, no couch day 😂

Lots of people get caught out by walks 1 and 2 of week 6 - they come as a sting in the tale after the high of twenty minutes in W5R3. But also - sometimes an extra recovery day makes sense. Maybe you felt you needed that and were talked out of it but it doesn't matter now as you successfully completed the run and can move on. Just remember you're allowed to take two rest (correction: non-running) days if your body makes it clear you need them!

Thanks, I will trust my instincts in future and not be swayed, but you’re right I did it and I will focus on that for my next run, thanks for the advice 😀

Week 6 can be tricky to say the least. Enyoy your recovery days and make sure your head is rested too! As I found out this morning, if your head isn’t ready for your run you will fail. Keep positive and believe in the programme. You can and will do this. The odd bad run is to be expected but I can’t see anywhere that you didn’t complete your run. It was a success - celebrate that.

Thank you, I did manage but I think you’re right my head was telling me I couldn’t do it before I even started. I will put it down to a bad run and move on.

I had that day today so I’m trying to take my own advice. Not easy I’ve discovered!! Onward and upward! Good luck for your next run.

I found W6R2 really tough as well, yet W6R3, which I felt quite stressed about, was fine. All in the head? I'm not sure, but anyway relax, take it easy, and I'm sure you will do it 🙂

Thank you, at least I’m not alone! Onwards to the next one with more positivity I hope!
