So I took an extra days rest because I’m sore. It was a bit better today so I went for it. The run was fine but I was extra sore afterwards. I’ve been reading up on stretches from the FAQ page links, so I tried some of them out and they really helped! I don’t know why I’m so surprised, this forum is so brilliantly helpful!
So, I’m going to take two days rest again but do the strength and flex exercises as well as do those stretches.
Thank you to those who helped me get through this iffy patch, you’re helping me claw my way out again!
Only 10 runs to go, I can’t quite believe it 😳😳😅🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🎉👍👍

Well done I have this run to do today - I'm not looking forward to it as my last one was so unpleasant! I think I need to do some stretching afterwards as well - are the strength and flex exercises you mentioned on the forum?
There’s an NHS podcast of them. They run over 4 weeks which would fit in nicely with what we have left and a bit beyond. I think they’re going to be pretty essential.
You can do Run 2, you’ll be fine. Good luck and just take it easy 👍🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️👍
I do dynamic stretches before every run and static stretches after. They seemed to help and now they are just part of my warm up and cool down routine.
The strength and flex exercises are a good idea for developing your core and joints. I haven’t actually done the podcasts, but work out at the gym on many of my non running days and I’m sure it’s been beneficial. It also enables me to do some upper body stuff too. 💪🏽
