I’m 26 year old mum of 2 and I’m following slimming world, almost at target. I have been wanting to do exercise that fits round my family. So today I started couch to 5k, I really enjoyed and found it wasn’t as hard as I thought. I really want to do run 2 tomorrow but it says we are meant to have a rest day.
So I’m looking for advice... is it ok to go again tomorrow or am I pushing it too much.
(Ps I suffer with anxiety and I’m hoping the running will help clear my head a little too)
Thanks
Rach

I think everyone will agree that it's best to follow the advice and take the rest days, they are a key part in the whole C25K program,
I'm the same tho lol i have the urge to run without a rest day but I'm sure we'd do more harm than good,
Congratulations by the way for starting, you've done the hardest step 💪👍
When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased, which is why rest days are crucial.
Rest days are non negotiable. Enjoy the anticipation of that next run. Headspace while running especially with little ones is special time, enjoy it. You will learn a lot on this plan, including patience 😉 happy running
Thank you for all your lovely replies! I have woke up this morning feeling more aches than I thought I would. So I will be enjoying the rest day and.waiting till Monday morning to run!
Well done. I started on New Years Day and also have anxiety and it has really helped. Taking a rest day is really important as you are beginning being to use muscles you havent used before. Though I have wanted to run again the next day as enjoying it but have stuck to the programme x
I agree with the others, stick to the plan, by all means go for a brisk walk tomorrow but give your joints time to adapt you don't want to get an injury.
