The one where I ran for 20+ mins with teabags in my shoes!!!

Well that’s week4run2 under my belt again and yet I nearly didn’t go when I woke up first. I looked out and it was still dark ....and the roads were wet... and it was binday so I knew I’d have to do the wheelie slalom and I nearly talked myself out of it.

I even made myself a coffee and sat down to drink it in my dressing gown- cue for 2 of the cats to come and sit ..1 on my lap, 1 leaning up against me comfortably sleeping. I drank my coffee, formulating excuses to myself.

“ I’m doing an hours Pilates tonight so I COULD miss today...”

“ I have to wait in for Levi’s mattress to be delivered...”

“ I can always go tomorrow morning...”

Then 2 things happened. My phone pinged twice , once to tell me the mattress will be here at 2.57 approx( that made me laugh.. such a precise time to be ‘approx’) and the second ping was a text from drs reminding me I have an appointment at 9.00 tomorrow morning so probably wouldn’t have time to run then either.

“Right then, lazy a**e, get your shoes on and run”. So I did and enjoyed it once I was out there. Just need to get back in the habit again I think. Roll on lighter mornings though.

Ran in my trail shoes as they grip the pavements better when it’s wet and slippy and it wasn’t until I got back and was taking them off that a teabag fell out. Now this may seem strange but I read somewhere that if you put a greenteabag in your trainers when you take them off they don’t smell. And it works !!! You just need to remember to take them out before you run and this morning I forgot.

Still for future reference PG Tips pyramids are very comfy teabags 😂🤣

Hehe, this made me laugh. I know that thought process so well. Love the tip about the tea bag I will have to try that. Well done on your run. Rfc x

I’ve been doing it for about 18 months now and it seems to work. First time I’ve forgotten to remove them though 🙄

I wonder if it would work for coffee too? Might just toss some coffee grounds in my shoes for my morning run. That way, I can have my morning coffee and my run at the same time.

It would be the ultimate multi-tasking!

It would have to coffee from Central Perk though, for sure. ;-)

🙈👍🏻🤣 brilliant. I save up silica gel sachets and chuck them in damp shoes... but they always hurt if left 🤣

Ha, ha this made me smile and giggle :) It is so easy to find excuses, I agree it is important to try and get into a habit. Unfortunately despite good intentions life sometimes gets in the way!
