Just wondering how many KM should I be covering in week one, I’m doing about 2.8, I’m not rushing or going very fast, is that about right? What did you good people cover in week one?

Dont get hung up on the name of the program.

If you can do 5k at the end of it, that's a double bonus. But the real aim of the program is to get you running for 30 minutes 3x a week.

So dont worry at all about how far you're going in a week. Just focus on duration.

Everybody is very different. There are many people who have been graduates for a while and still dont hit 5k. It's ok. It's all good.

Getting out and running at your own pace is all that matters 🙂.

Hi Sazzles9 yeah dont worry about your weekly milage at the moment. That comes in after once you start doing regular 30mins runs.

But just as an example you could expect to do 30-40kms a week if your training for a HM 😜

Despite its catchy title the aim of the programme is to get you running for 30 minutes rather than 5k by the end of it so try not to get hung up on distance as you may find yourself pushing too hard and getting injured.

I’m due to do my final run and will most likely cover about 3.5km running (possibly 5k with walking). Am I bothered- absolutely not 😊 When I’m running I slow down my pace if I need to to ensure that I keep going. You’ll hear it time and time again...when you think you can’t go any slower slow down again 😂

Getting out there is the most important thing and doing it comfortably

Happy running 😊

As the guide to the plan states healthunlocked.com/couchto5... this training plan is duration based.

Comparison to others is futile.........we have eight and eighty year olds doing this programme with every conceivable ability and disability.

Compare to your former self and hey, you are doing great.

Totally ignore distance, the important thing is finishing each run in the plan. Assuming you are going to keep running after the 9 weeks you have forever to work on whatever distance you want to go for. Last week I opted to run a 3k and a 12k, just because they were routes I wanted to do. Happy running

I’m not focused on distance, I looked at my fit bit saw how far I went and wondered where I gauged on that.

I'm sure you are doing great. Tge benefit of seeing your distance just now is the amazement you'll feel by the end of w9 as to how much further you are going in the same time. Have fun 🙆‍♀️🏃‍♀️😀

It's all been said really, but just go slowly and don't think about distance. I have absolutely no idea about my distance and I'm nearly at the end of the programme! At some point after graduation it might be interesting to know I suppose....
