How far is everyone able to run during weeks 7-9??? I did week 8 Run 3 last night but the furthest I’ve run is 3.08k. I can’t see how I’m going to manage 5k anytime soon 😕😕😕
How far??!!!: How far is everyone able to run... - Couch to 5K
How far??!!!
that's okay. it's not about running 5k. that can be longer term goal. What is certain is that of you complete W9R3 you will be running for 30 minutes... yayy!!
Hi Emz,
As Rignold says, it's all about time, distance will come later. Stick with the idea that you need to run for 30 minutes with out stopping, that is the aim.
You will put undue pressure on yourself if you are concerned about hitting that 5k. You risk injury and worse, getting fed up with the program, if you push yourself too hard too soon.
I waited until after graduation before doing my first parkrun, but you don't have to. There are usually no time limits with [official] parkrun. Many people walk part or all of the route and times can be anything from 25 minutes to 65 minutes, once you take out the club/elite runners.
Hope that helps Emz.

I will never be able to run 5k in 30 minutes and that's fine with me. But I can run for 30 mins + now and I will soon get to 5k but not in 30 minutes. Never going to happen! I am faster now than when I started but am still a snail! A happy snail! 🐌🐌🐌☺
My graduation run was about 3.4k. Don’t worry.
Ive just started week 7 and finally after weeks of 3.4km ive managed to up it to 4km. I ran for another 5 mins after my last run (25 mins) and made it up to 4.7km so fingers crossed ill make the 5km by 9 weeks. But id love to know how to increase my running speed without killing myself before the end.
