Week 4, Take 2, Done! ✔

So I woke up this morning to thick fog and decided to wait and see if it cleared. Then I had to wait for the grocery delivery. By the time that had arrived and put away it was lunchtime and the fog had more or less gone.

It was a chilly 4 degrees out but I opted for a single long sleeved base layer today, throwing my lightweight jacket on over the top.

The woods were busy with families and dog walkers, mostly sticking to the main paths, in order to avoid the mud. My trusty tail shoes let me go off-piste. 😁

The c25k app stopped working for me again today, so I missed the encouraging words from Denise Lewis. Luckily I have a workout set up on my watch so I knew when to walk and when to run,

The first 5 minute run, uphill through a really muddy section, was a bit of a struggle but I was surprised afterwards to see that my pace over this stretch, and in general, seems to be consistently improving with each run.

Week 5, and that 20-minute non-stop run awaits. I'm looking forward to it!

Oh and the jacket came off halfway through - I'm glad I didn't add any other layers or accessories. I do run hot!

The photo was taken on my cooldown walk today.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone. Happy Running! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Thanks Ian. I actually like the cold as long as its dry, bright, crisp and no wind. It was minus 2 on one of my runs last week

Great stuff Birdlady, I love the look of those woods and cant wait to get back into the ones near me but the path by the field is just too muddy, I would be up to my ankles and Tia would have her belly in it!!

Oh Phdgranny the woods are wonderful and I love running there.I often have a similar problem - the path down into the woods is impassable unless in wellies

Your runs are getting better every time you go out Birdlady64, another good run today, lovely photo of the woods near to where you live, like you I sometimes have to avoid the muddy bits with long puddles and go a shorter way., onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍

Al you would love the woods and it is a great place for dogs. The woodpeckers are very active at the moment with lots of drumming.

I'm loving running there, though it's slower than on the pavements. I do get a huge lift each time I go out.

Just taking each run as it comes, grateful to be back out there again
