Week 1 Run 3! Mornings are def better for me- today was much better than Monday night thank goodness. Do people keep running every other day or is it just 3 days per week? X

Well done for completing your first week!

I think the ideal is to have a rest day between each run in the week and then 2 rest days between weeks.

So I try to do Tues, Thurs, Sat.

The really important thing though is that you take at least one rest day between runs.

The rest days are even more important than your running days!

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on completing week 1 of C25K, you can choose any days you wish, if possible keep to the same days that you run, onwards and upwards to week 2.

Congrats, I'm a morning person also :-)

It's up to you, I generally run 3 times a week and have a good walk / hike at least once a week. Most will agree that a walk on a rest day is good but the temptation to run is pretty strong for a lot of people and should be avoided. Rest days bring strength and stamina and are very important to the program.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it is all explained in there.

As long as you have at least one rest day between runs, you can arrange it as you wish.

Yes, well done for completing W1, that's a great hurdle to get over. I'm a morning runner too, realistically it's the only way I can fit it in without disrupting the rest of the family, plus I find it a great way to start the day (especially when I've finished!). I'm trying to run every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday morning, starting my 'new' week on Saturday. This is also basically after two days rest, but then I do generally play squash on a Thursday night, so the extra rest day helps recovery from that. I'm just trying to get myself into the habit of running on those days so that it becomes automatic, no matter the weather, no matter how I feel (unless it's ill or in pain), I automatically get up an hour earlier on those days and go out for a run. Just do what suits you, but yes, it is essential to have at least one days rest between runs.

1st 90 ses of running was ok but 2nd was up a slope so had to walk some of it I was out of breath, but rest of it wasn't too bad as I tried concentrating on my surroundings and music. Thighs ached like mad though when I finished. Keep us posted how you get on wk 2 good luck !
