The 1st 3 min run was ok, but the second one seems to be my hurdle. Managed it but jeeeeezo that second 3 min was tough going.

Well done, but if any run is tough, just slow down.........it is up to you how hard this is.
I just did this same run this evening we managed it!! I found it tough, but if we completed it that's the main thing!! There were moments I was tempted to stop but kept thinking 'think how amazing it'll be to know you've done it when you get home', haha.

Slowing down certainly appears to be the trick on the road to success. I've just restarted from scratch after just scraping my way to W4 R1 last November & then stopping. I was getting progressively slower last year (so I could make the longer runs) and although I'm not going as slowly as I should yet (ready for W3 R1 on Saturday), comparing how far I'm going this time to last time, I see I'm covering less distance, so I must be going more slowly. Keep at it, it sounds like you're doing fine, and know what you need to do to keep going.
