Well so far I seem to be coping and getting back there. No trouble with my breathing now - just need to get my fitness back and I’m doing loads of Pilates and stretching so 🤞.
Apparently my hip pain is caused by my gluteus minor? /minimus? Anyway it flipping hurts and all the Piriformis Release stretches Id been doing weren’t helping at all. Although my Piriformis has never been so released 🤣. I also have tight hip flexors so I have been doing lots of work in them and in the process rediscovered lower stomach muscles I didn’t know I had. I’ve also been going to a chiropractic who did lots of tiny adjustments to my lower back ( I couldn’t slump or arch my lower back but can now) and my hip ( which has helped considerably) and also my ankles. Now walking much more equal on each side
I don’t have pain whilst running or walking but it’s when I have been sat down for a while or lying on my side for a couple of hours ... so much so that it wakes me up at night which is a nuisance. When I’ve been sat it is just a stabbing pain around the side of my hip when I first get up which clears after a couple of steps but when I wake at night it feels more like sciatica and my thigh is tingly and achey. I then have to lie in my back for a while till it goes. Unfortunately my default sleeping position is in my side and off I go again. 😥
Anyway, this mornings run was fine, no problems, was almost tempted to push on but I thought “ no!! You’ve not run for 3 months. Build up gradually and you won’t injure yourself “ and I took my own advice.
I also wore my trail shoes , which I bought at end of last winter, as the pavements were sort of greasy/ slippery and they were great.no slipping and just as comfy as I remembered. And nice and bright too. Onward and upward. 😁
