And for the 3rd time... week2r2

Well so far I seem to be coping and getting back there. No trouble with my breathing now - just need to get my fitness back and Iโ€™m doing loads of Pilates and stretching so ๐Ÿคž.

Apparently my hip pain is caused by my gluteus minor? /minimus? Anyway it flipping hurts and all the Piriformis Release stretches Id been doing werenโ€™t helping at all. Although my Piriformis has never been so released ๐Ÿคฃ. I also have tight hip flexors so I have been doing lots of work in them and in the process rediscovered lower stomach muscles I didnโ€™t know I had. Iโ€™ve also been going to a chiropractic who did lots of tiny adjustments to my lower back ( I couldnโ€™t slump or arch my lower back but can now) and my hip ( which has helped considerably) and also my ankles. Now walking much more equal on each side

I donโ€™t have pain whilst running or walking but itโ€™s when I have been sat down for a while or lying on my side for a couple of hours ... so much so that it wakes me up at night which is a nuisance. When Iโ€™ve been sat it is just a stabbing pain around the side of my hip when I first get up which clears after a couple of steps but when I wake at night it feels more like sciatica and my thigh is tingly and achey. I then have to lie in my back for a while till it goes. Unfortunately my default sleeping position is in my side and off I go again. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Anyway, this mornings run was fine, no problems, was almost tempted to push on but I thought โ€œ no!! Youโ€™ve not run for 3 months. Build up gradually and you wonโ€™t injure yourself โ€œ and I took my own advice.

I also wore my trail shoes , which I bought at end of last winter, as the pavements were sort of greasy/ slippery and they were great.no slipping and just as comfy as I remembered. And nice and bright too. Onward and upward. ๐Ÿ˜

Glad to hear you are better and also back on track Lou, take it steady ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š I'm currently on the IC myself, I have picked up a cold that seems to have ferocity of flu ๐Ÿ˜’ . . . I'm into week two now with it ๐Ÿ˜’

Hope it doesnโ€™t linger on like my bug did then. I had proper flu 2-3 years ago and spent a fortnight in bed and then another month falling asleep as soon as I got home. That was nasty and since then I have had asthma ( never had it before) but this bug was nearly as bad and lasted longer. โ˜น๏ธ

๐Ÿคžfor you. Make sure you are fit before you go out there again

Thank you - Iโ€™m lucky that most ASICS seem to suit my feet. Not too expensive either

Hi Limberlou only just seen this post. I am sorry to hear about your painful hip/s, I didn't realise that you haven't run for 3 months - it is so annoying and frustrating when you can't run :( LOVE the shoes - I also have asics trail shoes (well mixed terrain). All the best.

This describes it exactly - nearly better now but some nights I still have interrupted sleep due to my leg niggling and last night was one of them ๐Ÿ˜ก
