So, I’ve been doing C25K on an elliptical trainer as I have a bad hip (I need a new one!) and can’t run “on the ground”!
I’ve been finding over the last few weeks that even walking is becoming more painful. I’m definitely using my bad, left side differently. My lower back is very tight from the back of my hip upwards and inwards and I’m finding that in bed, I’m almost sleeping with my back arched.
I can anyone offer any ideas? I know this will be from my bad hip posture that I’ve had all my life, so I suspect it’s muscles tightening in one area and pulling on another, but I’m no expert so a bit of advice of whatcha ones to stretch etc would be great!
TIA 😊

I don't really know about bad hips, but yoga with Adrienne on YouTube got me through the early weeks when I had lots of aches and twinges in my hips and lower back. I also did lots of core body workouts to help support my spine and posture.
My problem is I can’t do anything that required my left hip to be bent past 90 degrees toward my body, so all the downward dog exercises and similar are out.
Hi, If you have the all clear from your doctor I would recommend seeing a good sports therapist. I made an appointment with one about a year ago and it’s changed my life for the better. I started with an assessment and then customised exercises. Once she was happy I was going in the right direction I started with her group Pilates class. I do online Pilates classes now twice a week with the same therapist and it really helps with the c25k and horse riding
Hope it helps you out. I had/have a minor hip imbalance and it was affecting everything. Took a while to build my strength up in my core but it’s making life soo much easier and I’m building up confidence to try out new things without fear of injury. I was previously pulling muscles in my back a lot and always had one grumble or another.
I bet you are really looking forward to having a shiny new hip! My brother had his done last September and he’s a new man. He’s getting the other one done hopefully this year provided covid doesn’t scupper it.
