Yay!! Now I feel like a runner again although I’m not as fast as the previous 2 times. I’m just going to consolidate now till it gets a bit easier. Hip still niggly when I get home but I did lots of stretches, and squats ( they seem to help??) and had a lovely shower and rubbed my Deep Heat / ibuprofen gel concoction on and I feel like a new woman. Well... I keep telling myself that.
I woke at 7.45 and talked myself out of running for 3 hours .... it’s raining!! .... pointless getting wet unnecessarily... etc and then thought “sod it!! Get out there Lou!!!l”. So I rummaged in the cupboard and found the cap I bought last summer, and have never worn, to keep the rain out of my eyes and put my little jacket on and my buff and out I went and it was ok........
Saw another couple of idiots running but not many other people. Ran my old 5k route hopefully but didn’t make it to 5k, only 3.6 but better than nowt as they say. I really struggled on the Chaddiford Lane long slow slope but I was determined not to give in and at least I didn’t have to pass hordes of smoking and vaping teens this morning being a Sunday. And I wasn’t quite as slow as Friday but not quite as fast as Wednesday but it was another 30 minutes and that’s good enough for me.
Keep running and keep safe guys 💕
