I did my first run ever yesterday and it nearly killed me. But definitely helped having the couch to 5k app to keep me going.

Enjoy your journey.
Well done Monty!
It's like having a virtual trainer run with you isn't it. Keep going, be determined and settle into a 3 x week rhythm, you'll soon miss the days you don't get out!
Well done for taking that first step. W1R1 is a toughie but it does get easier as your body starts to get used to this new activity. My tips, for what they are worth, are:
- Take it slow, and even slower when necessary. So long as you are moving, there is no such thing as too slow.
- Don't fixate on 3 runs per week or completing it in 9 weeks. There's no time limit to doing this and a "week" is simply the the time it takes to complete each set of three runs.
- Hydrate, especially on non-running days. You hydrate today for the run tomorrow.
- Always take rest days. If in doubt, take another one. Taking extra rest days won't hurt, not taking them just might.
- We all have runs that don't quite turn out the way we planned/wanted; it's fine, just treat them as a practice.
- Enjoy yourself.
In what way did it nearly kill you? Out of breath? Legs hurting? etc
