I posted Monday after a horrible run about how discouraged I felt. I felt awful running, tired, heavy, and just overall run down, literally. With the advice of everyone, I tried not to let it deter me and cross-trained yesterday before going out to run today. Well, I ran 3.5 miles!!!! It wasn't fast but I'm so proud of it. I need to do better about my expectations and allow myself bad days. As a former college athlete, that part is very hard for me to grasp. Thank you everyone for the support!!

Post-graduation Feels...
Well done, it can be hard to pick yourself up 👍🏃♂️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏽
Yeah! I’m Pleased to read your post that’s great news. Make sure you have a couple of days rest before the next one if it was longer than usual. I also used to run as a child but this is now different and it’s about learning how to deal with setbacks and enjoying every run you do. X
Brilliant post to see a great run that made you feel so happy. You may or may not get a run that doesn't go your way again . But remember this post 😊😊😊
Good for you. Glad to hear you sound more positive!
We just need to let go of those bad runs! There will, I'm sure be plenty of runs coming up over the years, where we off and just cant do it all.
It happens. But there will be lots off good runs too!
Well done Sarah - i went out yesterday with my usual two running mates and it was SO HARD... they are both young, fit and faster than i am. I felt very disheartened even though we did 4.5k - all psychological as last year I wouldn’t have walked 4.5k - PMT anyone?! 🤣
I also felt lousy after graduating but I have done a couple of parkruns now and running around 2-3 runs a week. I find it a lot easier without the app and enjoy listening to my music. I think it is helping my mental health (although Bertie the black dog is trying to creep in this morning). I am going out for a run and he is not allowed to come!
For the first time ever I quit a run yesterday and still feel bad about it. My aim was to run 5k but it just didnt feel right, I really struggled and gave up half way through but looking at the stats I realised I started too quick. I guess the best thing to do is to get right back out there l, adjust the speed and be kinder to yourself
One of my running mates says if you go out and it’s not right, just walk for a bit - or for the whole thing. Who cares? You went out for a run/walk/stretch - you went out, that’s the point. However, I totally get that you feel bad - your head is winning. Blooming heads 🤣🤣🤣
