Metatarsalgia??

So I can’t run for 3/4 weeks. Gutted. GP said rest and lots of ibuprofen. How could I get this far and be pushed backwards by this? I was due to graduate next week 😢

Oh no, so sorry to hear this! I know how you feel though.....try not to let it get you down - stick around here and though you may feel a bit jealous (I did 🤢) it helps to focus on returning when you can, and feels good supporting everybody else 🙂

I will do and thank you. I know you have had an injury of your own and know how it feels. Hope you get back to form ASAP x

A So sad for you. 🙁 That is so disappointing when you’re so near the end. The only comfort I can offer is that I had an injury (gardening!) just after finishing C25k which laid me off for a month, so I know roughly how you feel. It does go by, and you will get back on top of it. Follow your doc’s instructions carefully and don’t try to rush it. I was too ambitious with my return, and it set me back yet again. ☹️ Find distractions and be patient (so hard!), and you’ll be back soon. Good luck.

Coz that's life. I got injured mid way and had to go all the way back. Then l recovered and got very badly injured on the very graduation day and couldn't run at all for three months. Had to repeat the whole program again. Since then I've been injury free for nearly three years and have completed a marathon. The point is, it's all irrelevant for as long as you keep coming back and not think about setbacks. Every (every) professional athlete on Olympic level is open to injuries so why would we be exempt? For those guys an injury could mean a career end, and for us (carefree lethargic park runners) that should not be anything bigger than a forgettable scratch. Think about it that way.

I know your pain, I had done 5 weeks consolidation and got injured, no running for 8 weeks, then I was away and ill, then ill again, then really wet and muddy, but I started again and am now on w9r2 and the proud owner of waterproof trail shoes! Looking forward to sunny runs again!
