One run left!!!

Completed week 9 run 2 today and it’s actually happening- I am going to finish this!! Was very wet and quite dark when I headed out this morning but I find I really struggle to run any other time than as soon as I get up. Does anyone else have this? Considering a treadmill for the spare room as will only get darker and wetter now in the coming months and really do want to keep at this! Any advice? Thanks for the support and words of encouragement this far 🙏🙏🙏

Hi there! I’ve just gone for week 9 run 2 too! It was incredibly windy today, even for where I live by the sea. I know what you mean about early mornings, it’s the only time I have too, but I’ve just resigned myself to carrying on in the colder weather as I really don’t like treadmill running. I’m hoping it will be exhilarating (I’ll remind myself of that in December haha).

I just feel so tired and sick if I run any other time of day 😣 We live on a country lane so no streetlights at all for about 5 mile radius- worried about the dark and huge muddy icy puddles!! I think maybe I will get myself a head torch and decent running Hi-vis jacket as will be cheaper for sure!!

Definitely a head or body worn torch - check it has a red rear light too.

You can buy hi-viz mesh waistcoats and bands if you don’t want to splurge on a special jacket.

Decathlon is also a good place for cheap stuff, if you’re in the UK/Europe

Ah, yes country roads does sound difficult. I’ve got the luxury of pavements and street lights. I’m sure someone on here will have some incredibly helpful tips.

Yes, I’m hoping to, it will be another 7am run I think. I’ve been really surprised to have made it this far and now I think I’ll miss having Joe Whiley in my ear telling me I can do it.

I completed W9R2 this morning too and hoping to graduate on Friday morning. I'll write it up in a few minutes. I also prefer the mornings.

Excellent not long now!

I still find it hard to get out, if I don’t get out first thing.

If you can find a running group close to you, that might help?

I find it much easier to get out later in the day - even if it’s still technically a morning run- when I’m meeting up with my Canicross buddies.

Running with a group can also add an element of safety on dark nights.
