Week 5 run 3.

What’s with the massive jump up on week 5’s run 3? How did other people find the 20 minute jog? Not sure I should have looked at that until Sunday morning.

Don't say that! 20 mins! I'm on week one. I can barely manage the 60 run.

Amazing what you will achieve! Slow & steady. The plan works! 👍

Don't worry all the running you will have done up until then will have prepared you for it. Just take one run at a time😊

Sorry didn’t mean to scare you.

I’m feeling the same!! I’m still in week one and already nervous about the 5 minute runs! Going to take the advice and take it one at a time and repeat some runs if I need to before moving up. Good luck, I know you can do this!!

It isn’t really a big jump. By that time you have built up to not needing the walk breaks. Just take it really really slowly and you will be fine.👍

Well done on starting C25K. I’m not sure which week you’re on, but w5r3 seems to be the one that most people are concerned about. It certainly is a milestone run in the program but you’d be surprised at what your body and mind can do. The key is to start off seriously slowly and maintain a steady pace throughout so that you don’t over do it. You’ll smash it 💪🏼

Not to worry. All in good time. Sounds like a jump but it’s actually less run time than the earlier run totals. And you will find the brisk walks have been helping more than you might realise. Always remember: the rest of us did it, so you can too. 👍😄 Just don’t rush. And then you too will join the ranks of supermen/women who have gone before. 🤣👏🏼

I thought the same but did it! I'm no expert but I suggest not over thinking it and just run slowly without thinking about time or distance at all!

This was my Week 5 Run 3

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

For context, I nearly couldn't finish Week 1 Run 1. It was a real struggle for me and I was exhausted after it and had significant aches the next day (and even into my next run).

Trust in the plan. You're never ready for future weeks until you get to them.

You wont be ready for Week 5 Run 3 until you've completed Week 5 Run 2!!

But by that time, even if it seems like a jump, your body will be ready for it.

Just focus on the next run and if you have any doubts at all, we're here to help you through it.

Just remember, it's not a race. Slow and steady wins the day.

Everyone bricks it before that one, and then afterwards wonders what the fuss was about! Think of it this way. In run 2 you did 8+5+8 which is 21 minutes, and on run three you're done in 20 minutes. The middle 5 isn't like taking a full rest as you're still walking briskly. When I did it I realised after about 2 minutes of the middle walk that I was ready to run again and was quite impatient by the end of the 5.

You'll also find you have an insane grin on your face once you've done the 20. Go for it!

I think John_W did a graph which shows week 3 to week 4 is the biggest jump, just in case anyone is newly alarmed!

Each completed run is getting you ready for the next. 🤗
