Here goes nothing!!

HealthierCatLady profile image

Morning all!

So I’ve downloaded the app and I am all ready to go!

I need to become fitter, healthier and thinner so this was the obvious choice but I am hoping that I follow the plan as I have an excuse for everything!

Here goes nothing, wish me luck!!

The programme is great and this forum keeps me going. There’s great advice and support. A few things I do to ensure I keep going -always have my running gear sorted and ready to go, put the next run in my diary and post regularly on here which means you’re accountable. Speedy60 has posted a link to an article that explains the psychology of forming good habits which is helpful to read, talking about the choices we make with our leisure time. It’s helped me see that this isn’t a leisure activity but a lifestyle habit! Good luck and happy running. Keep us posted so we can cheer you on 😊

Good morning and good luck!

Read the guide through healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

The real secret is that it is more mental than physical determination that will see you through. That will only come if you can believe in yourself and your reasons for wanting to start 🤞🏻😊

Hello Friends,

I have a query. Can I run on daily basis instead of only 3 run a week?

This way instead of 5 weeks, I can complete the course in two weeks.

Please advice.

Thanks & Regards,

Nitin

Good morning! So the answer to that, is absolutely not! Sorry :-)

It's a 9 week plan and should be done in no less than 9 weeks.

Truth is, your rest days are equally, if not more important than your running days.

This gives the body the time it needs to repair itself from your last run.

The purpose of the plan being laid out as it is, is not just about getting you to run for 30 minutes. It about doing that with the least possible chance of injury! Of course, you can never rule that out completely!

So, happy running and happy rest days :-)

Thank you very much for the wise advice.. I was not aware of the Importance of rest day...

Another query... Can I perform any other exercise on the rest day or is it that I should take complete rest?

Warm regards,

Nitin

You can do other forms, also have a look at the strength and flex podcasts, I used them on alternate days during c25k

Definitely! Swim, cycle, yoga..... just don’t try the high impact street pounding type! It will help with fitness without the danger of running injury.😊
