6 Degrees and sunny, excellent weather for a run. To be honest I'm glad I started this running malarkey in Winter, I think the summer would be hell on earth, I get so hot running in 6 degrees I'd be medium/well done if it was 26 degrees!!

Today went well. I decided to tryout varying pace across the run because of that damn hill. So I did the first bit at 5:30 ish and the hill at 6:45 ish and that felt so much better. Recovery at the top was much more rapid and wasn't quite dissolving into the tarmac!

I've found another phenomenon though that seems to occur at the end of the run. For that last minute or two where I grimace, snarl and push for the finish and I'm feeling like I'm really pushing it hard, going at a really fast pace to get to the end ..... look at my watch to see 6:00 km/min what? really? This feels like the fastest I've been running the whole way, how can that be? I'm on the FLAT!! - The distorted reality of the 'knackered zone!'

Great run today for you. I had 6 degrees on Friday and my face was like a beetroot🤣. It can get really warm in the summertime but you'll be a regular runner then. You'll manage. Good luck and well done 🎅🎅

Really well done.

It's funny, but after my last run, I said exactly the same thing to my wife, I've no idea how I'll cope in summer. With the winter sun on my back I was dripping with sweat.

Well done with that hill though. It's a great feeling of progress when you feel like your recovery time is so much quicker isnt it?

Haha that’s funny and thanks Mig.

I keep analysing my runs (it’s that Garmin watch’s fault) and trying to find the best way up that hill that leaves me with enough puff to finish lol.

Wk6 Run1 pretty much got the hill training spot on (unfortunately) as soon as I finished the first walk... I was at the bottom of the hill. I was pleased and absolutely gutted lol.

🤣 I remember one of the earlier weeks, on the walk, thinking, please Michael, let get at least half way up the first part of the hill.

Just as I get the foot of the hill, Michael says... 'and go'... oh how I laughed.
