Week 6

So like I said in my first post run 1 of week 6 could not have gone any worse. Anyway I listened to my body and I had 2 rest days between run 1 and run 2 and it played off Friday's run was so much more smooth it almost felt comfortable. And in the last 10mins I felt I had a really good pace going. Normally I feel like I'm dying towards the end. So I took a days rest (quite literally as I have been on night shifts) and I ran again on Sunday I've been running mid afternoon about half an hour or so after waking up. Well I open the app on Sunday click on run 3 and I see 25minutes. My first thought was how the hell am I going to do this 20minutes almost killed me and at the start of the week I couldn't even run 5 due to my health. But i stuck with it. It wasnt easy but it was manageable I finished it and the last minute I really did push myself. I'm so freaking pround and also truly and utterly shocked that me!! I, can run well jog for 25 consecutive minutes. What an achievement and growth since week 1 !! I'm off on holiday tomorrow to Majorca so I'm hoping I can carry on running while I'm there along the beach. But roll on week 7!

Well done

Just a word of warning. Running on sand is really hard so maybe stick to a promenade if you are able or at least accept you are likely to be much slower. Sorry not trying to be a downer 🤗

Enjoy your holiday and absorb some rays 😎

I live by the beach anyways so I found this out in week one I always try and do part of my run on the sand and it's much less impact on the ankles and knees but yes so much more effort is required. :)

Brilliant stuff, well done you! I ran on the beach for Week 4 as we were on holiday and it was the only flat bit I could find! It's tough on the calves but it's also nice to be by the sea and watch the surf as you run.
