The human body is amazing.
I played the whole 80 minutes on Sunday, only 13 of us against their 15 (for anyone that doesn't know anything about rugby that means a lot of running around ππ). By the end of it I was feeling it for sure but actually felt pretty strong and possibly one of the fittest on the field.
Next morning however, run day, I was in absolute agony. My entire body ached, my ankles were so stiff it took the whole warm up five minutes to even start to loosen them up.
I decided I would still try my best at the run. Completely ready to be overwhelmed by exhaustion and pain but still determined to give it a damned good shot.
Honestly, my breathing was fine, nothing too desperate and my aching legs and ankles didn't hurt any more during the entire run that they did before I started.
So the outcome was I set off on this 25 minute run with a knackered, aching body and it didn't actually feel any worse while I was running. Admittedly I did go slower than normal but hey, I did it.
We truly are amazing and capable of so much more than we expect.
We WILL all do this thing, I know it ππ
