Week 5 Run 1. I am absolutely loving this.

I’m sure many have posted this before but this running lark is truly transformative. I would never have believed it, I have made every excuse for not running in my lifetime but now my only regret at 54 is that I should have started years ago. If you are thinking about starting and putting it off just get out there and try it, from week one the benefits are incredible. 😁

Yep - very weird sensation as they do it under anaesthetic eye drops! “Stare at the light” whilst they cut open your eye, rip out the old lens, wash out the hole and put another lens in! Ached for the first couple of hours but has settled down now, that or all the pills I’ve been popping have kicked in!

Well done on the 10k btw!

My mum had both of hers replaced, she’s in her mid 70’s and has almost perfect vision now.

Thanks - the other one is being done on the 9th of January. Be a week or two before I run again so my knee should be back to normal. Rig - I’ve ordered one of the braces you recommend too - need to build on all the good work I’ve done in the last 9 weeks! Can’t let it slip now! New Year, new eyes, new me!

Too true, I have a holiday over Christmas and New Year, I’m pretty sure there will be a 5 day stint when I can’t run but should still graduate towards the middle / end of January. Then consolidate for a bit before deciding where next. 10k is looking like a proper number though 😁

To true. Someone can tell you how good it is. It's not until you try it for yourself 😊
