I headed out yesterday full of enthusiasm - finished the run with exploding lungs! I really struggled (especially with the middle 5 minutes). For the first time I am considering repeating the run as I was so disappointed with myself. Maybe I'm just subconsciously putting off the 20 minute run at the end of this week though!!
Hope you are all having happy running weeks!

Don't lose heart, you did it! Wiser heads than mine will tell you you're probably pushing yourself too hard so find a gentler pace that is kinder to your lungs. I'm only one run ahead and I am really starting to find that the harder runs set you up for the next one. And two lots of 8 mins are strangely easier to deal with mentally than stop/start runs - not that I would have believed that before my run this morning π Rest well and feel proud of what you've achieved.
Thank you so much for replying - it's so good to hear from someone who is a step ahead of me, it's so reassuring. I love hearing how everyone else is getting on. I will go into run 2 with more positive energy thanks to your post.
Positivity got us off the couch in the first place and keeps us going even if our legs and lungs are shouting at us. For me, it's a revelation that physical exercise can be so rewarding and it's great that this forum enables us to share our positivity. π
I am at the same stage and wasn't looking forward to the first run of week 5, but I surprised myself, kept a good pace and pushed on. I feel this week is the real change week with the running becoming more serious.
Exploding lungs won't be good for W5 R3. I think you ought to slow down if you want to complete that one without stopping. When you are new to running as I was and still am, the last run of Week 5 feels like a marathon! Good luck.
