Ok seriously. I’m the girl who was told I ‘run funny’ by my PR teacher at 14 years old... who, as an adult, always said I’d never take up running because it’s ‘boring’ and ‘too hard’...who scoffed at the idea of it before going to watch a friend in Edinburgh half marathon.......... then became inspired to start C25K
How is it now that I love it?! That I hate rest days because all I want to do is go and have a run?! That I enter every new challenge with a big smile?!
Anyone who knows me probably think that they need to prepare for an invasion of the body snatchers!
Anyone starting out... you’ll doubt yourself, you’ll get puffed out at a 5 minute run and wonder how the heck you’ll do 20 minutes the following week.
Just trust the programme - it works!!

It is such a common story, I don't know why, maybe the thing we all share is a motivating force, all different reasons but a desire to make changes, whatever the reason it works!
Sounds familiar! I found a few other reasons (excuses) too, bad for my knees, not as good as strength training...
Now, when I'm not running I'm thinking about running, running gear, scoping run locations, analysing my stats, reading about running, I think you get it!
I'm surprised I've not been accused of being an imposter too!
Every conversation invariably turns to running. Today, I called in a computer problem, the guy on the other end is a runner too. How did we get onto running? Not sure, but seems to happen frequently 😬
Same here... I crave run days. A few times now I’ve skipped rest day and done another run the day after. I wish I had time to do it every day! My wife thinks I’ve gone mad (although while I’m running she’s sitting on the sofa, watching love island and eating junk)
Really, brave to skip rest days, you might get into trouble with Oldfloss 😂. Must admit I've been tempted, but scared of sustaining some kind of injury. Been there, not nice had to take a long time out. But all good now - oops tempting fate now 😱
Haha I’m always tempted to skip - and one done two runs in a row on a couple of occasion.ls. Although that’s usually cos otherwise I’ll end up missing a session if I don’t.. usually I suck it up and go for a walk instead.. just remind myself that if I push too hard I’ll end up with an injury and then I’ll be really ticked off with all the rest weeks that’ll result in!!!
