I Just ran 5K !!!

Since struggling to run for 30 minutes after illness I've now managed it 3 or 4 times back at 6.5km/h running on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today as the 30 minutes came up I felt good so continued and finally ran 5K all but in 44:50 but it felt good. After reading several posts about the same issue 30 minutes or 5K I felt I should post this as it's exactly what this forum is about. I still have ambitions to half that time but for now 5K is good enough for me.

That first 5k is awesome isn’t it? We grinned all day long and our first took 52 minutes but we were still so happy

Congratulations on doing the 5k! And thanks for posting ... it's really good to hear your story. I ran my first 5k last Saturday and since then have been obsessing about taking so looong to do it (I was also 40+ minutes + ) .... and so completely ignoring how far (metaphorically) I've come. Thanks for the sensible perspective :-)
