When I went to bed last night I decided that instead of doing a 30 minute run this morning I would try to do a 5k run instead (Just to see if I could). I got up earlier than usual (I was excited to run) and set one app for my usual morning walk and another app set for 5k distance with 1k notifications. I don't run in our street so this was to be started when I got to the main road.
All went well, I did stretches before I left the house then a brisk walk to the end of the street, set the app and off I went. I've been running around 4k in 30 minutes so I was expecting to add at least another 10 minutes (or more) onto this.
I have to admit I was praying for the last notification. I was flagging and so close to stopping. I'm glad I didn't as I was only about 10 steps away from finishing at this point. I was so happy to hear that final sound, I could have cried.
The biggest surprise was yet to come though as when I checked my time it was just under 36 minutes. Happy, happy, happy!
I really enjoyed the rest of my walk home, I was walking on air
