I just ran 5K !!!!

Went out to complete one of my 30 minute runs. Took it nice and easy and after 3K felt fantastic so decided to just keep going. I knew I would hit 4K around the 30 minute mark but kept going until the Fitbit buzzed for a fifth time. I’m over the moon. A thoroughly enjoyable run (first run in 10 days), and no problems at all.

I’m a runner !

😂 I said you could do 30... I have to frown upon the extra for a second 😒 done

Ok... great run... best advice now is to get back to the plan for what will be your graduation run... let’s not redo that injury... you know you have it... nothing to prove now!

So go and do two final 30 minute runs ?

I thought you’d already done one? Today is second and yeah, a 30 minuter. When you’re running from here on you’ll only go long once a week (maybe less until legs are fully conditioned and you still need all rest days). May as well get in the habit of training like a runner straight away I think.

Also, in theory, you’re at 3x30 so 90 total... which after consolidation gives you 9 to add. 30, 30, 39 is gonna get endurance up better than 33, 33, 33.

Sorry I thought you meant today didn’t count as my second 30 minute as I had essentially skipped the last two and ran 5k in 39 minutes.

Yes I will make sure I get a steady 30 minute run in next to complete the programme before going long again.

👍

Yes 39.5 minutes. Two weeks ago I was on target for a circa 37.5 min with a pace of 7 min 27 but this was the first time out in almost 2

Weeks following a cold/virus
