I have just ran 5k in just over 30 minutes!!! πͺπ» It took me 30 minutes and 13 seconds! Iβm well chuffed with that. Cos of the heat,Iβve had a few more rest days than normal and admittedly I havenβt had the βwantβ to go running at all, the motivation has really gone but I got out there and did it. Itβs really nice running conditions as thereβs a breeze, so that may it a little easier. Breathing is still difficult, legs felt heavy but I did it!! ππͺπ» one more run left to do. I need to find that motivation again though!!! Canβt believe I could t run 60 seconds three months ago and now Iβve just done this. Iβve never exercised a day in my life pre couch to 5k, so if I can do it, anyone can do it ππͺπ»ππββοΈ
W9 R2 boom! Ran 5k: I have just ran 5k in just... - Couch to 5K
W9 R2 boom! Ran 5k
Wow! Congratulations, that is amazing. Looks like you will be one of those few who actually manage 5k in 30 minutes by the end of the programme. Incredible achievement and an inspiration to me back here at the end of week 7. Keep it up for that last run!π
Thank you! Honestly I do find it hard but I think with running, itβs a lot about the mental power as well as physical, pushing yourself through. I struggle with my breathing, although with each longer run it slightly improves. Well done to you for getting to week 7, thatβs amazing!! Not long left for you, I shall look forward to reading your graduation post πͺπ»π
All I can say is WOW. Good luck for your graduation run.
Fantastic achievement ! ππππ
Well done !
You have now set your own bar for your graduation run π
Good luck ! π¬
That is so great- well done! Doing 5K too!
I'm a couple of runs behind you but also lacking motivation and have lost the "want" to run too. The heat has been a big factor for me. Just want to get through to the end and be able to do an occasional parkrun.
Good luck and keep it up!
Thank you! Iβm finding having the motivation a bit of a struggle too, Iβm really not sure how we combat that. Iβm wondering when that addiction to running comes? Hopefully soon. What run are you on now? πβοΈ
Thanks! Just need to give myself a harsh talking to about my attitude!
Excellent! Well done π
Fantastic, well done. Sounds like you had a great run πββοΈπ
My legs go through phases on the run. They start heavy, almost seem to accept their fate and feel pretty good then towards the end they start chuntering again lol!
1 run left to do, such an achievement isn't it? It's an amazing programme but your will power has to be pretty amazing too πππββοΈπ
Thank you!! The breeze and Lionelβs dancing on the ceiling helped π
When Iβm out there I donβt feel like itβs great, I think I could go faster and I could almost cave at ten minutes π but I know the speed will improve as time goes on. My legs do the same, it feels like youβre running through quicksand sometimes doesnβt it hehe
1 run left, I canβt believe it. Itβs an amazing achievement, it really is, even more so as Iβve never been one to be bothered with fitness but the benefits are numerous arenβt they. I just need to still find that bit of motivation, Iβm not sure how that can be created ππ I think having the goal of completing the programme has been my ultimate motivation and now Iβve got to find new goals. Firstly, improving my speed slightly πͺπ»
Yep, the hills are definitely made of quicksand lol!
I think you have more motivation than you think. Just to get out there even when you feel like you don't want to shows some motivation, don't you think? π€
There are so many benefits. I think they are more apparent as you get older lol...for me anyway π
That's what I'm working on. A bit more speed and my running technique if that makes sense. I want to run rather than shuffle πββοΈπ
Good luck with the last run. You'll smash it ππ
That is so true, just getting out there even when you feel you donβt want to, that sure is showing motivation. I shall hold onto that you know, as itβs a good little thought to push us through.
Sooo many benefits, makes you feel so much better about yourself doesnβt it. And Iβve never drunk so much water π
Yeh that sounds good to me, working on the running technique and speed. I see some runners and itβs so effortless, there I am puffing away, red faced, about to collapse π we will get to that effortless looking stage, Iβm sure π
Thank you! πͺπ»πββοΈπ₯
Hahaha omg I would love to be that runner. There is a lady I see most times I'm out running and she looks effortless and always smiling, not a beetroot glow in sight! That is so going to be me π
The water thing.... absolutely yes! I am sure I am own shares in sparkling water now π€£ ....the real shocker is that I actually turn down a glass of wine the night before my run because I don't want to ruin it.. who am I? Lol
π€π€£ππββοΈ
Haha! When a glass of wine is being turned down you know youβve changed π but then you can have one post run, to celebrate π
Just posted my response to this in my post, so all thatβs left to say is ... Go Issy, go Issy, go Issy! πππ€ΈββοΈπ
Many many congratulations! Iβm just on week 6 but canβt wait to get to being able to run for 30 mins. Well done again!
Thank you! Iβve got one run left to do. Youβre doing so well, week 6, not long now! Itβs such an achievement being able to run the 30 minutes, donβt get me wrong, itβs really hard! But with time the runs will improve. One more week and then you start the longer runs, thatβs the best bit, running for 25 minutes non stop, showing yourself you can do it. Keep on pushing yourself ππͺπ»ππ₯
You're really cracking it... and you'll keep on getting better, finding it less of a drag on the legs and less of a strain.
Just one more run! Then keeping up with it.
Yay you!
