Physio now

So got to week 7 and did my 25 mins run. Shin splints has gone morealess but now physio for a painful hip. Physio said I rushed the programme yet I jogged like a snail and stuck to the plan leaving at least 2 days between runs. I will run again but now almost 4 weeks. So when I do eventually start should I go back to week 1? So frustrating but determined to get back to it!

I think you might loose a bit of condition, but not as much as you think. When I had to miss a week I did a run from 2 weeks before to see if I was OK with that and the next run was from the week before and as that was also OK I went back to where I left. If I had struggled with either I would have started where I struggled and made sure I managed it before moving on.

It is better to test yourself on slightly shorter runs and achieve it rather than push too hard and not achieve it because your body was not ready yet. Slow and steady wins the race!!

If your physio already thinks the programme was a bit much for your body at this stage...I would go back to the start, simply to ease your body back to where you were.

I'm assuming you have been given some exercises to help so keep up with those. Maybe check out the Strength and Flex forum too for other exercises you can do to help build strength in your core, legs and knees to give your body the best conditioning for when you start again.

You'll definitely get there though, I don't doubt that! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜
