Which watch to buy...recommendations please??

Hi all, new on here & my first post. I’m doing my wk 5 run 3 tonight & cant wait. Taken the plunge & going on my first 5K park run this Saturday with a friend. I’m going to take it easy & just enjoy it.

Up til now I’ve managed to use my phone to record my distance/stats etc onto my strava. I love being able to do that. I’ve now decided I want to invest in a watch that will do everything instead so I can leave the phone. It has to have gps, be able to record treadmill use for those occasional runs I do indoors & post into strava.

Hello Vicx76. Great you've already reached wk5. I also used Strava when doing c25k . Then in July I bought a garmin forerunner 35. It's amazing it does everything you're looking for. It downloads to garmin connect on my phone then transports to Strava.

Good luck with your run today and your parkrun at the weekend 🤗

Well done! You could do c25k on Parkrun, is that your intention?

Bear in mind that unless the routes on a hard surface then the muddy conditions at this time of year could make the run heavy going.

I have a Garmin fr235 I find very good and it records runs indoors..

I’m probably going to just do the park run as a relaxed, fun, no pressure run & walk when needed. Still going to record it of course haha.

Garmin always gets good feedback, regardless of that I would always want my phone with me 🙄

Another vote for the Garmin 235. It's been around a while so consequently it's good value. Does all those things including inside on the treadmill

I love my Garmin Forerunner 35. Does everything I need and much more. Priced well too.

I have a Garmin 735XT and recently bought my wife a Garmin 245 Music, both excellent pieces of kit. My 735 is a little over 2 years old now but a lot of the new Garmins come with the option of being able to play music, my wife loves it as it means, now she's graduated, she doesn't need to take her phone when out running with me, her headphones connect to the watch and her Sportify playlists are available on that.

Garmin 35! Love mine and it’s far more accurate than my Iwatch. The 235 was too masculine for me.

I’ve heard great reviews on the Garmin forerunner 35 & it’s gone down to a great price now. Looks bulky but may just get that one.

Thanks for the great response everyone.
