After 11 weeks I'm at the final group of runs. Did the first week 9 run this morning and plan to do the next one on Wednesday. Managed the 5k in 35 minutes. Two rest days and hopefully graduating on Saturday at the Barrow park run.
Saturday will be my first outside run with other people. After years of being self conscious I've finally feel I have the confidence to get out there. I'm expecting it to be hard as I've read online that treadmill running is easier. Looking forward to it anyway.
I have read many many supportive posts on this forum and it really helps. The world is still full of nice people (probably all wearing running shoes!!!)
Good luck to everyone on this great journey.

You're doing so well, looking forward to hearing all about your graduation run at Barrow Parkrun. ☺ Running is a brilliant confidence boost, so great that you feel ready to run with others.
Great you are now at wk9 and what a great way to celebrate by doing your graduation run at parkrun hope you enjoy it, I'm sure you will. Well done you 😊😊
Well done Fatboy1961! parkrun is brilliant you will love it. 35 minute 5k is quick so well done on that. I graduated end of last year and did my first parkrun in Dec 18 in 38.5 minutes- it's taken me nearly a year to get down to 32 minutes. Take it easy on Saturday and try not to set off too fast as it is your first time outside and your first parkrun, enjoy your graduation run and let us know how it goes
