First treadmill run

Today I did my first run on the treadmill. Figured with dark nights and bad weather it would be sensible to have the option. Wow that clock takes ages to count down 30 minutes! Think I need something to distract myself from fixating on it.

👍🏻🤣 yes, it really is soooooo dull. I find the right music and mindset makes it almost bearable.

I love treadmill, prefer it to outside.

Each to their own I suppose.

Cover the clock!

Hi purple fish 59 - I play music through my earphones and once I get in my stride it flies by! Worth a try?

Can you listen to music while you run, or podcasts? It's something to keep your mind occupied and I find it helps!

I do listen to music when I run outside, I forgot to take my headphones to the gym though. I will definitely take them next time!

I went outside and ran in the cold, so I'm no help! Fortunately we have somewhere a short drive away where the path is lit - round where I live there are no street lights or anything.

I truly admire Treadmill Runners. To me it's the most boring thing I ever did so those who have that kind of determination leave me in awe.

I did run ten miles twice last year on the TM because I was training for an event and outside weather was flipping horrendous. The only advice therefore I can offer is to have some "pressure" running wise to make the TM "meaningful" - maybe commit to a race down the line that you will have to train for. That's what kept me sane in my extremely short TM experience :)

much harder to run on a treadmill. 😳

I find treadmill running really difficult. I stick to intervals on the treadmill then find one (!) Dry evening for an outdoor run with street lighting.

I watch Netflix whilst running on treadmill but still have to cover all the clocks up.

I cover the clock with my tablet while watching Netflix - it has definitely helped me. I have also watched YouTube videos of runs in different environments whilst listening to music - the scenery beats staring at the garage door!

No the feeling but you cannot avoid the temptation to look.

Yes, I can imagine it's pretty dull after the variety of the big outside...I'm running outside after work with a chest torch and getting on ok so far, weather be damned!

Hoping I can avoid the treadmill and the expense of a gym, but I may be kidding myself!

Hope you find something fun to distract yourself with 😏
