Just completed treadmill run 2 (I’m sure I’ll get use to it). Feel like I’m starting all over again totally disorganised. Whoever said it’s easier than outside 🤔

Well done... I think that whichever you are used to is easiest, the switch does take some getting used to.

Why not outside as a matter of interest?

I like to run early and need to get back on time. This morning it was dark damp and misty. Trying to get use to TM ready for winter

North Derbyshire so not exactly tropical 😁. Running in the rain is fine so long as you wear a cap etc. Some of my best runs have been in the pouring rain I started C25k in sept/Oct so had to get used to running outdoors in colder weather. I joined a jog club and had to jog there, so that was really my first brush with cold weather running. I was really dead nesh but I couldn’t believe how quickly i acclimatised

Run in any weather now 🙂

No I’ve always hated the cold. Can’t move if it’s too cold. Need the heat.

I’ve been using a treadmill this week for the first time too, and agree it takes getting used too - especially that weird floating feeling you get when you’ve been on it for an hour! I need to go on it again tonight for my final training run before the Cambridge town&gown 10k on Sunday. I’d much rather be outside but it’s too dark and I don’t have the time to drive into town to find a route with enough streetlighting and pavements!

Good luck what speed do you use

I’m trying to keep to tempo / moderate pace and adjust the speed to that heart rate, which on a longer run seems to be around 7-8 kph on the treadmill. I also add a 2 degree incline to compensate for the supposed lack of air resistance. Much prefer running outside especially cross country, but with the nights drawing in its getting harder to do that, especially with the longer runs. I need to do around 16k tonight in about 1hr50 if I can...

I'm for the outdoors, couldnt run in a gym. Just done Wk 6 this a.m. on another lovely day. Living in the 3rd driest area in all the UK helps.
