Have had 2 weeks off from running and tonight I went straight into a 5.8K....in this weather!!! Trainers are sodden and it took almost 50 mins 😳...feeling tired but proud πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Well done, you deserve to be proud. Keep warm then stuff these important shoes with newspaper to stop up the water.

Thank you! I gave up trying to avoid puddles after a while! Also took off my jacket as it was sticking to me! Had a nice shower and all dry now πŸ˜‚

Thank you! Yes, once I’d got over the rain filled trainer situation, I did enjoy it!! I will be taking a towel for my seat to drive to work tomorrow as I think it will still be soaked πŸ˜‚ I’ll know for next time!!!

People were looking at my group with incredulity πŸ˜‚. I was on my way to the meeting point and an older gentleman said β€œthat’s dedication for you” weirdly, my thoughts were not about the rain but the idea that this man looked at me and saw me as a runner πŸ˜‚ still not feeling like a runner!

5.8k and 50 minutes of running you should be so pleased and proud. I just think wet trainers are all part of our running journey , mine were soaked on Monday. 😊😊

I guess I’m a proper runner now then πŸ˜‚ muddy, rain soaked trainers, going out in all weathers πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚just read your post and decided I couldn’t miss another run due to rain( here in Lancs) and decided to do the Speed bursts podcast so that I wouldn’t be out long. Quite exhilarating really but feet very wet. I’m lucky that I don’t need to drive to anywhere to do a run

Brilliant that I managed to motivate you πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜‚. I’m in Devon but come from Merseyside, nearer to Lancashire than Liverpool city!

Good for you! Like most of the UK, we are in the grip of a bloody monsoon where I live!! You did well to get out there and I bet you’re glad you did!

I am! I don’t think I would have been motivated enough if it wasn’t for the running club. I don’t lik e letting people down, esp our run leader who has an injury, yet still comes out on her bike to take us on our run! Lots don’t turn up this time of year but I like a challenge πŸ˜‚

You'll have no problem with that if you carry on as you are πŸ‘

Bridge to 10K is a great forum, friendly folks and a lot of the same people as on here...if you're not on it already, get over there!

It has Juju's Magic 10K plan which you can join up for, think it's about now it's starting but you can join in anytime if you decide to go for it πŸ‘πŸ˜

I’m in Torquay, right by the coast. It was crazy yes! I am hoping it’s dry tomorrow night. Apparently parkrun was difficult on Saturday as it was windy too πŸ’¨πŸŒ§
